SAYING GOODBYE

Wednesday, May 2, 2018

Well readers, by now you’ve probably begun to wonder if I’ve dropped off the face of the earth.  I have not been posting or updating the blogs Facebook page in a while.  Have no fear, its all been for a good reason.  Graduation season is now upon me and this last semester has been challenging to say the least!

A little over 3 years ago, I started The Bliss Blog. As a college freshman with lots of extra time on my hands, I decided a fashion/inspirational blog would be a great place to share ideas and to speak a little from my heart.  I had no idea the opportunities it would create for me!  Ive met amazing people, done fun collaborations, represented a few awesome brands, was offered a couple of modeling jobs that lasted throughout college… and made college life a whole lot easier! But now its time for something else. Time to settle into this new  phase of my life.

Im so thankful for all of the opportunities this little blog has given me! Its all been fun and well worth the effort!  So for now, onto a new chapter. Who knows? Some day I may return to The Bliss Blog. Ive always been a sucker for a good sequel!

For my last post, Id like to highlight someone who has managed to put up with me through all four years of college life. He has supported me through the good times and the bad, laughed with me, been a shoulder to cry on, nursed me back to health, showed up at 2 AM for ER visits, moved me into different apartments and he is hands down THE BEST photographer Ive ever worked with. Andrew Swindle, you are a gem! Not sure what I would have done without you!

Heres to our last photo shoot! Its been a blast.

Graduates! Heres a link to Andrew Swindle Photography. You will love his work and he will love the opportunity to work with you!

The Jord Giveaway

Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Seriously… its more like an obsession. You will very rarely see me without a timepiece on my arm.  I feel "naked" without one on. The addiction started growing slowly at first, but then it was like an avalanche… I just can’t stop!  Lately, I’ve been seeing wooden watches all over social media. I’m beyond excited to finally get my hands on one! When Jord contacted me to collaborate with them, I was like OH HECK YES!

JORD (pronounced yode) is a Swedish word meaning earth, soil, or land. Some of the sustainably-harvested woods used to create the watches include olive, bamboo, maple, sandalwood, acacia, zebra wood, and teak. They are absolutely GORGEOUS, lightweight, and another biggie; The glass is scratch-proof! There are tons of designs to choose from. Each watch is hand crafted, unique, and modern. Check them out here for yourself. I have The Frankie- Zebrawood and Navy watch and adore it!

Jord asked me to pick my favorite. Three days later, this beauty was at my door! When I received my watch, OMG… Opening it was more like an experience! The packaging was just as beautiful as the watch itself. The watch rests on a little pillow, inside of the most beautiful carved box. It was like a gift wrapped in another gift!

Want one? Well, here is your chance - JORD is giving away a $100 gift certificate (that expires 12.17.17) to one person to use towards a beautiful wood watch! And you literally cannot lose - everyone who enters will get a $25 e-gift card (that expires 12.17.17)  Just CLICK HERE to enter the giveaway. It runs through 9.24.17 and JORD will automatically notify the winner. Good luck!!

*When I started my blog, I made a commitment to my readers to ALWAYS give my absolute honest review of the products that I receive for review.  If I say that I love the product, its not because the item was free of charge to me… Its because I really really like it!

Beach Bliss

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

It's been a long summer semester and I'm so excited to be home for a couple of weeks! It has been hot hot hot here in South Alabama  … and the beach was calling my name!  I decided to take my niece for a beach day- she would not touch the sand. I'm talking…scared to death- had a full fledged come-a-part:( Harper was pretty excited about a visit to The Yard Milkshake Bar afterwards though!

If you haven’t visited The Yard in Gulf shores…OMG! The best way I can describe it is milkshake heaven. Seriously- HEAVEN. I ordered the Sea Turtle- Praline Pecan and Butter Pecan ice cream with chocolate pecan turtles and crushed waffle cone, whip cream drizzled with caramel and fudge with a chocolate dipped jar . Lord have mercy…

This summer, I have been obsessed with one piece swim suits. I love wearing a one piece with a pair of high-waisted jean shorts and a cute fedora hat. My suit is from Nordstrom and made by La Blanca. It is now sold out, but I’ve linked similar suits by La Blanca down below.

I hope your summer has been nothing short of amazing…and If you happen to make it down my way- don’t forget to visit The Yard! You can thank me later;)

Summer Stripes and Palazzos

Friday, May 19, 2017

There is  a certain swag in a wide legged, flowy trouser that is really appealing. Because of their wide leg and light fabric, palazzo trousers are perfect for keeping you cool on hot summer days. What I love the most about the palazzos is that they are chic, trendy, and flattering at the same time… not to mention they give off that ’70s vibe!

Before purchasing palazzo trousers, consider the length. If they are too short, you will look chunky; if they are too long, you risk looking sloppy...or as we say in Alabama, "frumpy". That is a word isn’t it?? Palazzo pants should float along as you walk, but you shouldn’t be tripping over them.

Jazz up your palazzo trousers with accessories that have the same relaxed look and feel. A handbag with a slouchy shape echoes the silhouette of the pants.

The three amazing leather bags featured are from the Growley Leather Co. Each bag is carefully made by hand in a small, family-owned shop in Fairhope, Alabama, using the very best materials and finest leathers. The Darcy Tote is my fave and a perfect choice for the palazzos. You will LOVE these bags! From journals to watch straps, they have it all!  Check out the Growley Leather Co! *Use the coupon code bliss2017 at checkout and receive 10% off of your entire order:)
